Check for Water Leakage
Before finalizing a PG, inspect ceilings and corners for damp patches or flaking paint. These are signs of water seepage, common in older buildings during monsoons.
Ensure Proper Drainage
Ask the landlord if the PG has a proper drainage system, especially in balconies and wash areas. Poor drainage leads to water stagnation and invites mosquitoes
Look for Covered Entryways and Parking
A covered entrance or basement parking can protect your belongings, vehicle, and shoes from getting soaked every time it rains.
Check Power Backup
In Delhi/NCR, power cuts are frequent during storms. A PG with inverter or generator backup ensures your work or studies aren’t affected.
Laundry & Drying Space
Monsoon means slow drying of clothes. Ensure the PG provides an indoor or covered drying area so your clothes don’t stay damp for days.
